Food presentation concepts get a Guam welcome

Our product guru Toby has been jet setting again, this time to the tropical island of Guam in the western Pacific. But the trip wasn’t all fun in the sun – Toby was introducing top local chefs to the wonders of our Rosseto range of modern food presentation ideas.

You’re probably as surprised as we were to hear that Guam is actually an ‘unincorporated territory of the United States’. It’s given the island a unique mix of Asian, Spanish and American culture – and all the exotic dining options that suggests. So the locals were enthusiastic to see how Top Shelf could complement their fabulous local cuisine with great food styling.

Sharing new food presentation ideas

Toby met with top chefs from the Sheraton, Westin, Marriott, Hyatt Regency and Hilton hotels, who are kept busy with not only the island’s significant US military presence, but also with more than a million Japanese tourists who visit the island every year.

And they’re just the beginning of an expanding tourism market that’s keeping the local dining scene buzzing all year round. With so many five star hotels in close proximity, competition to provide high quality dining and functions is fierce.

“There’s a lot of rivalry between hotels on Guam to set the highest standard for dining,” Toby said. “The local chefs were keen to see what we had to offer and get some fresh ideas on presenting food in a tasteful and high class way. They were very well received.”
